JURI KIM PANG | 김주리

Juri Kim Pang is a composer. She has also distinguished herself as a solo pianist. Her talents as a composer have won her numerous commissions, leading to widely acclaimed works. She made a debut by composing and directing an opera “The Great Chasm” at an off-Broadway in 1999.

A child prodigy, she began formal piano lessons with her mother at the age of four, and a year later started giving public recitals, playing works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. She appeared as a solo pianist performing with an orchestra at the age of twelve.

She majored in composition throughout her musical education. She studied at Yonsei University, where she received her bachelors in music composition in South Korea and at Mannes College of Music, where she received her masters.

Her residence/studio has recently relocated to Riverdale from the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She is married to Joe and they have two lovely sons.
